1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using ProLiveEditor ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
ProLiveEditor is an online code editor that allows users to write HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Markdown code with real-time preview. The Service is offered in two tiers:
- Free Tier: Ad-supported with local browser storage
- Pro Tier: Premium subscription with cloud storage and additional features (coming soon)
3. Free Tier Terms
The Free Tier of ProLiveEditor includes:
- Local Storage Only: All your code is stored in your browser's localStorage
- No Server Backup: We do not store your code on our servers
- Advertisement Display: Ads are displayed to support the free service
- Unlimited Temporary Projects: No limit on projects (stored locally)
- Full Editor Features: Access to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Markdown, SCSS, and TypeScript
- CDN Library Integration: Add external libraries from cdnjs and unpkg
Important Limitations:
- Clearing browser data will permanently delete your saved code
- Code is only accessible from the same browser and device
- We cannot recover lost data as we have no access to it
- No cross-device synchronization
4. Pro Tier Terms (Coming Soon)
We plan to offer a Pro subscription tier with the following features:
- Cloud Storage: Your projects saved securely in the cloud
- Ad-Free Experience: No advertisements
- Private Projects: Keep your work private and secure
- Image Hosting: Upload and host images for your projects
- One-Click Deploy: Deploy to Netlify or Vercel
- AI Code Assistant: Get help writing and debugging code
- Cross-Device Sync: Access your projects anywhere
Pro subscription terms, pricing, and billing details will be provided when the Pro tier launches. We will update these Terms of Service accordingly.
5. Advertising
The Free Tier of ProLiveEditor is supported by advertising. By using the free Service, you agree to:
- The display of advertisements from Google AdSense and other advertising partners
- The use of cookies for personalized advertising (you may opt out via ad settings)
- Not using ad-blocking software while using the Service (though we do not enforce this)
Advertisements are designed to be non-intrusive and will not interfere with your coding experience. Pro users (when available) will enjoy an ad-free experience.
6. User Responsibilities
When using ProLiveEditor, you agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes
- Not use the Service to create, store, or distribute malicious code
- Not attempt to circumvent any security measures
- Not use the Service to violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Not use the Service to infringe on the rights of others
- Take responsibility for any code you create, share, or execute
- Maintain backups of your important code (especially for Free Tier users)
7. Intellectual Property
You retain all rights to the code you create using ProLiveEditor. The Service does not claim any ownership over your code. However, by using the share feature, you acknowledge that shared links may be accessed by anyone with the URL.
The ProLiveEditor name, logo, and website design are the property of ProLiveEditor and may not be used without permission.
8. Privacy and Data
ProLiveEditor respects your privacy. For Free Tier users, all code processing happens locally in your browser. We do not store your code on our servers. Please review our Privacy Policy for complete details on how we handle data.
For Pro users (when available), code will be stored securely in our cloud database with appropriate security measures including encryption at rest and in transit.
9. Third-Party Services
ProLiveEditor integrates with third-party services, including:
- Monaco Editor: Code editing functionality by Microsoft
- Google AdSense: Advertisement display
- Google Fonts: Typography
- cdnjs / unpkg: CDN library integration
- jspm.dev / jsdelivr: Preprocessor compilers (SCSS, TypeScript)
These services have their own terms and privacy policies that govern their use. We are not responsible for their practices.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
You use the Service at your own risk. We are not responsible for any damage that may result from using the Service, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data or code (especially when browser data is cleared)
- Browser crashes or performance issues
- Security vulnerabilities in code you create or execute
- Issues with third-party CDN libraries you include
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PROLIVEEDITOR AND ITS CREATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION.
12. Service Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, including:
- Adding or removing features
- Changing Free Tier limitations
- Updating Pro Tier pricing and features
- Modifying advertising placement
We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time, particularly when we launch Pro features. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
14. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or restrict access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without notice or liability. Users may stop using the Service at any time. For Free Tier users, your locally stored data remains on your device even after you stop using the Service.
15. Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
