Privacy Policy

Last updated: December 16, 2024

1. Introduction

Welcome to ProLiveEditor ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, and disclosed by ProLiveEditor.

2. Data Storage (Free Tier)

Local Storage Only: For free users, all data is stored locally on your device using your browser's localStorage. This includes:

  • Your Code: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Markdown content you write in the editor
  • Editor Preferences: Layout settings, visible panes, language modes (CSS/SCSS, JS/TypeScript)
  • CDN Libraries: External libraries you've added to your project

Important: Since data is stored in your browser's localStorage:

  • Your data is NOT backed up to any server
  • Clearing your browser cache/data will permanently delete your saved code
  • Your data is only accessible from the same browser and device
  • We cannot recover lost data as we do not have access to it

Your code stays 100% private and secure on your own device. We do not have access to your code, and it is never sent to our servers.

3. Pro Tier (Future Feature)

We plan to offer a Pro subscription tier in the future. If you choose to upgrade to Pro, we will collect:

  • Account Information: Email address for account creation and login
  • Project Data: Your code projects stored securely in our cloud database
  • Payment Information: Processed securely through third-party payment providers (we do not store credit card details)

Pro users will have their data backed up securely and accessible across devices. We will update this policy with complete details when Pro features are launched.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your browsing history
  • We may display banner ads on the editor page that do not interfere with your coding experience
  • Pro users (when available) will have an ad-free experience

6. Third-Party Services

  • Google Fonts: Fonts may be loaded from Google's servers

These services have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their data practices.

7. Data Security

For free users, your data never leaves your device, providing inherent security. For future Pro users, we will implement industry-standard security measures including:
